Annika McSeveny

Annika works with glass, gold, feathers and frames to create intriguing pieces that beckon you to look closer. Combining the skills she learned from years of picture framing, her work demonstrates a fascination with unexpected beauty in found objects, sometimes using dark humour and nostalgia. Her techniques include gilding and reverse painting onto glass, with a strong influence of signwriting traditions. Unable to walk past a feather without picking it up, Annika started framing them in ways that truly show them off and then incorporating them into her own work.
