Seamus A Ryan

Seamus has lived in Tunbridge Wells for the past 20+ years. He is a self taught photographer and educator, currently dividing his time between creating new art and teaching photography at a special needs school in the area. His work is in many private, public and museum collections. His work has been used in movies and TV shows in the US and the UK and has been licensed by IKEA, through which he has sold  half a million prints and counting . Currently represented by The Atlas Gallery in London. He works in both Colour and B&W, creating prints ranging from unique Polaroids and Lumens through Platinum/Palladium and inkjet, and believes that a photograph is not finished until it is printed. In the early 2000s he was a consultant for Epson helping to develop their Black & White Digital printers because of his reputation as a Fine Art B&W artist/print maker. He worked extensively with Polaroid Materials and was given access to their huge 20x24 inch cameras, only 5 were ever made, as part of their Artist Support program. He loves the printed image and creating books and is currently teaching himself hand binding in an effort to make short run Artist Books. He teaches all aspects of photography and  offers mentoring.
